WEATHER UNDERGROUND REBRAND
Rebranding the company to match our current voice and persona
Identity & Website: One of my first projects at Weather Underground was to help with the ongoing rebrand of the company, under the Art Director. The engineer-created identity was almost 15 years old and did not match the voice or persona the company wanted to express. We did a lot of user interviews to gain an external perspective of who we were and even a bit of guerrilla research to validate the new visual identity (making sure it read the way we thought it would read).

TV Show: As a consequence of the clarified brand and the subsequent strengthening of our relationship with our users The Weather Channel, who had acquired us, wanted to create a weather science focused show under our brand as part of their effort to move away from the reality programming that was losing viewers. We (myself, our illustrator/animator, and a visual designer) worked with the TV side to define the identity and voice of the show, the set and many of the interstitial and supporting on-air graphics.

Marketing & Collateral: Design and production, working on everything from in house banner ads to app store screenshots. With a print background I have been able to help out with marketing work—everything from display graphics to postcards and posters.
